Founded in December 2020, La Brujeria began as a bold new takeout-and-delivery concept at 590 Grand Street in Jersey City. Born from the kitchen of longtime brewster and Jersey City culinary veteran Roberto Islas.
La Brujeria offers a rich tapestry of authentic Mexican cuisine—think birria, barbacoa, pozole, tacos de chicharrón, lengua, and cochinita pibil—delivered around the clock. Open 24/7 (with a brief closure from 5:30 AM–6:30 AM), it’s a go‑to spot for late-night cravings, hangover cures, and fans of real-deal Mexican flavors.
The name “La Brujeria” (meaning “witchcraft”) is a nod to the Mexican culinary expression, “le eché brujeria”—a playful way chefs say, “I added magic” to their dishes. That sense of homegrown magic permeates every recipe, crafted with care by Roberto and Chef Santos Xochiua alongside a team deeply rooted in varied Mexican regional cooking traditions.
In January 2024, La Brujeria shifted gears, relocating just a half‑mile away to a spacious new venue at 200 Summit Avenue. Now with room for indoor seating, the same beloved menu, and an added lineup of “Brujeria Burgers,” it continues to serve 24/7 with the same all-Mexican staff and unwavering passion.

This is the best Mexican restaurant I have been too. I travel all over, so trust I know what good food tastes like. I have been living at the Beacon for 9 months, and just discovered this gem a block from my apartment. The food is absolutely delicious, the staff are very pleasant, and the ambience is incredible. This business is important to the community and I will continue to support.
This place is awesome, the portions are great, the food is top notch (I love the Burritos), and the delivery crew never disappoints. Some of the kindest staff, too, when I've eaten there in person, it's very relaxed and chill
We've ordered from La Brujeria several times and it continues to be our go-to for Mexican. The menu is extensive and varied, all of the tacos we've tried have been great, good burritos, nachos, quesadillas, and tamales. We're big fans of the cochinita pibil pork. I wanted to try something different last time and ordered the potato & jalapeño tostadas and they were incredible! Cheesy, flavorful, spicy, balanced with creamy avocado, crispy tortillas, just the perfect meal and a great meat-free option.
